Individual – one on one soul care session
Flourishing, in the context of personal development and wellbeing, refers to a state of thriving — not merely surviving — where an individual experiences a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and satisfaction in life. It’s about living in alignment with one’s values, cultivating positive relationships, and engaging in activities that bring joy and meaning.
The questions “Am I safe?”, “Am I loved?”, and “Do I belong?” are fundamental inquiries tied to our basic human needs. They address our need for security, connection, and community, which are vital components for flourishing.
Am I Safe?
Feeling safe, both physically and emotionally, is a fundamental prerequisite for flourishing. This safety allows us to explore our environment, take risks, and express ourselves authentically without fear of harm or judgment. In a soul care session, safety might be discussed in terms of creating safe spaces for self-expression and exploring one’s thoughts and feelings, as well as developing resilience to handle life’s challenges.
Am I Loved?
Feeling loved contributes to our sense of self-worth and validation. It helps us to accept ourselves with compassion and kindness. In the context of flourishing, feeling loved can mean receiving love from others (family, friends, a higher power), but also developing self-love — nurturing a healthy relationship with oneself, which includes self-acceptance, self-care, and self-compassion.
Do I Belong?
Belonging is about feeling connected to others and being part of a community. It involves feeling accepted, valued, and understood by those around us. In terms of flourishing, belonging can involve cultivating healthy relationships, contributing to one’s community, and finding a sense of connection and purpose within a larger whole.
In soul care sessions, these questions can be integrated into the process of exploration and self-discovery. By addressing these questions, individuals can identify areas of their lives that may need more attention or healing. It can lead to a deeper understanding of oneself and one’s needs, ultimately promoting a sense of flourishing where one feels safe, loved, and a sense of belonging.
